Charter Members are institutions and individuals who have made a one-time contribution of $5,000 to help the Science Media Centre of Canada. The benefits of Charter Membership include: - name and logo prominently displayed on the Centre’s website
- recognition in SMCC public presentations
- advance notice of SMCC events, such as workshops
- invitations to special functions, such as receptions with other Charter Members or with SMCC Champions
In recognition of and appreciation for this belief in the SMCC vision, they are Charter Members in perpetuity with their names prominently displayed on the Centre’s website. Recently the Centre was federally incorporated and every Charter Member is entitled to a vote at any meeting of members of the corporation. The deadline for Charter Membership is September 30, 2010. Beginning in 2010, ordinary membership will be $5,000 renewable annually. Institutions and individuals can also be financial supporters without formally becoming members.
